Hello guys, the following interview may be a little harsh but I need to say it´s
I believe Bobbie Peru began as a solo project of Bert (full name Robert Genovese) after his then-band Adom split up. He recorded an acoustic demo EP and from that EP he recruited a full electric band with the original Peru lineup..
The ones I like playing most are “mongering the masses” and “conduit”. But we’re writing new ones all the time!
Bert usually comes to rehearsal with ideas, then we mess about with them and come up with new ideas. We try to write music that we like and other people will like too..
Where do you begin with influences?
They could be anything. I think all 3 band members like a lot of different kinds of music. I found out Chris (Baker, bass)’s favourite band is Fridge. Bert tends to listen to American roots-type stuff. I’m a compete music junkie in general and listen to it as much and as often as possible.
Nothing batshit crazy so far but it’s really early days.. We did have the pleasure to experience a weird drunk stage-invader who decided he’d run towards me as soon as we started the second song and ended up tripping over and unplugging the bass from the bass amp before landing on the floor next to us. Great job!
We’re doing out first recordings with this lineup in September! Then releasing it somehow.
We haven’t booked a world tour yet.
We sacrificed our last bass player to Valhalla to appease the gods.
There’s always good stuff happening in Manchester. We played with Ten Mouth Electron at out last gig which we asked them to do because they’re great and they kindly agreed to do so. Hopefully happen again soon..
