I’ve always been into music, I can’t remember when it started. So I grew up surrounding myself with very productive and passionate friends. They were mostly doing old school HipHop stuff, then I met Atropo and Karas, which were trying to produce those sounds and concepts that I was searching for. So I found my dimension with them and we started up a home studio and an Indie Crew/Label named Stay Quiet Crew, then KAYLA could finally bloom.
What song of yours is the one you like the most?
My favourite song of mine it’s not published yet, because it’s in my next album “Luna Nuova”. If I have to choose between my online songs I’d pick up Versus, produced by Opera Silenzio.
How do you write your music?
I often use my keyboard to start from a basic melody related to the mood I’m in, and then it all come out naturally. I also start from the beats that producers give to me, I prefer the sad and darkest ones, it connects better with my prolific mood.
What is music? What is God?
What influences do you have? I grew up listening the best of any genre. Metalcore, Nu Metal, Deathcore, Grunge, Electro, Ambient, UK Garage, HipHop and R&B, Italians songwriters.. And I also got a lot of Pop culture and I’m not ashamed of it lol. So I guess I’m a hybrid daughter of all these moods.
What´s the best experience you have had with your project?
Being in studio all day with great artists that I can consider friends. Passing the day trying to find the perfect sound and recording stuff, giving each other a lot of advices and support, and that’s essential when you’re building something. That’s my place. There I found out that we all need others, always, the good and the bad ones.
What plans do you have this year?
I’m working on a new Italian album, “Luna Nuova”, in italian it means New Moon. It will include 9 tracks produced by beatmakers from diffrent italian areas. I’m also working hard on videoclips and promotion. Meanwhile I’m uploading on my personal YT Channel a kind of webseries named #INGIRO: It’s just me singing around some covers, everytime in a diffrent place, without vocal effects or soundproofing, it’s funny.
Mention something you don´t like about your project.
I don’t like that it didn’t came out before. But everything has it’s time for a reason. So that’s okay. Acceptance.
Mention the biggest sacrifice you did for your project.
I refused to take part in an important and valid talent show. The contract terms would have blocked me and my work for a long time, and I think it’s more important builing an underground fanbase right now, and let people know me with my own terms and condition, even though that was a great oportunity and maybe one day I’ll may take that path.
What band, music project or solist from your city do you like? Why?
In Italy we’re full of valid artists, in my city too, and I’m happy and lucky to say that some of them are in my next album. Soon on my website I’ll say more about every single artist that worked with me, so stay tuned!
If your project was a word, what would it be?
It would not be a word, it would be a silent gravitating sphere.
What´s your full name? Where were you when you answered the interview?
