The Romantic Miscreants

in English by
The-Romantic-Miscreants-1

We were all members of the Newberg High School Theatre troupe, and one night, during the teardown of a set, two of our founding members, Zaine and Travis, were gallivanting around the building causing shenanigans. Spontaneously, they came up with the name “Romantic Miscreants” and decided they had to find other potential members who also had an affinity for adventure and mischief. Several members and expeditions later, the Miscreants realized their potential for a totally rad band. We all got together in Zaine’s room, booted up his old computer, and got to work. What song of yours is the one…

Metzger Dark Ambient

My project has started very little in my Bedroom with one amplifier I could only use on the lowest volume possible because otherwise I could get the police called on me easily. I was doing only making songs with virtual synthesizers because of this until I found a rehearsal room available to rent sharing with a band at Studios Sonum. Then I could practice at high volumes and eventually built a bigger setup with more amplifiers and more pedals. Started recording and uploading officially in February 2015 so that project was 2 years in the making, I started experimenting and…

Dead Formant

Dead Formant 1

Originally, when I was 13 (it’s been 5 years!) it wasn’t about having a ‘project’ but rather spending time on something that made me real happy during my free time, and that was Music Production. Being 13 shouldn’t really be ‘hard’ but at the time I felt pretty awful because of my own experience in Schooling, frankly Music Production kept it off my mind, which is one of the reasons I started, including that I had my own ideas I wanted to make. I already had some experience with programs like FL Studio because my brother Squadda B bought a…

I’ve always been into music, I can’t remember when it started. So I grew up surrounding myself with very productive and passionate friends. They were mostly doing old school HipHop stuff, then I met Atropo and Karas, which were trying to produce those sounds and concepts that I was searching for. So I found my dimension with them and we started up a home studio and an Indie Crew/Label named Stay Quiet Crew, then KAYLA could finally bloom. What song of yours is the one you like the most? My favourite song of mine it’s not published yet, because it’s…

Dear Darkness

in English by
Dear Darkness 1

Dear Darkness is myself, Stacey MacLeod, on vocals and guitar and Samantha Linn on drums. Samantha and I met while we were still working at Whole Foods Market in 2007. I was cutting fruit, when Samantha came in to say hello. She worked in the bakery department. We learned that we both made music and we formed a band called The Looms and then later, a band called The Heaven & Hell Cotillion. Dear Darkness is just us two and it feels like it’s always been that way, even when we were in bands together with other people. What song…
