Brightligth City

Myself and my brother (Jamie-vocals) started the band and then enlisted our best friend Jono on lead guitar, one of the greatest drummers from our local area in Benjamin Bell and added the tighest bass player around in Daniel Stubberfield.
What song of yours is the one you like the most?
My personal favorite is one of either ‘The Finish Line’ or ‘Reaction’

How do you write your music?
I write the ideas and then bring them to the rest of the guys, they add the magic and make it sound like something that I never imagined. Sometimes, I work with Jamie (vocals) on an acoustic guitar, other times myself, jono and Ben thrash the ideas out in a massive jam. Whatever works for the song we go for and experiment until we have the structure we are happy with.
What influences do you have?
We are all influenced by different artists and bands, however we all agree that Foo Fighter, Biffy Clyro, Thrice, Million Dead, Hell is for Heroes, Hundred Reasons and yourcodenameis:milo are all our key influences.
What´s the craziest experience you have had with your project?
The craziest experience has been the last tour as the reaction we received from everyone at the shows has been truly overwelming. One show that sticks out was when we played the Jubilee Club at the Barfly in Camden, there was a big Hungarian band on before us and we had loads of hungarian guys going mental to our music, then after the 2nd song loads of American students arrived, it became like a massive party and we were the soundtrack! Absolutely brilliant!
What plans do you have next?
We are about to go into the studio to record our album (scheduled for end of October 2015 release) Then we begin touring all of the UK in September, October and November. Always keep moving forward.
Mention something you don´t like about your project
Nothing as we love everything about what we are doing all of the time.
Mention the biggest sacrifice you did for your project.
This question reminds me of a great quote – “If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice”
What band, music project or solist from your city do you like? (Why?)
We really love the band Momgol Hoarde (Frank Turners hardcore project) and the band The Xcerts (they’re from Brighton via Scotland not close to London, but they are great)
If your project was a car, what model would it be? (Why?)
It would be a cross between a VW and a classic Alfa Romeo spider because it is engineered to perfection and great to look at.
Who answer these questions? Where were you when you answered the interview?
Justin (Guitarist) answered these questions, at home in Epsom, Surrey.
